I am Rafael G. Dos Santos, a highly accomplished researcher with a diverse educational background. I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Biology from the Ghent University, Belgium in 2005, followed by a master’s degree in Psychology from the Ghent University, Belgium in 2006. Continuing my academic journey, I earned a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain, in 2012. To further enhance my expertise, I completed a postdoctoral training program at the University of São Paulo in 2018. Currently, I am actively involved in postdoctoral studies within the Postgraduate Program in Mental Health at the Ribeirão Preto Medical School (FMRP-USP). Alongside my research activities, I also have the privilege of serving as an accredited advisor within the program. My research primarily focuses on the fascinating field of cannabis, marijuana, and CBD (cannabidiol). Leveraging my extensive background in pharmacology and psychology, I delve into the study of these substances and their potential effects on mental health. Through my research, I am dedicated to contributing to the understanding of the therapeutic applications, potential risks, and overall impact of cannabis, marijuana, and CBD on individuals. Being at the forefront of investigating the complex interplay between these substances and mental health is both a privilege and a responsibility. I am passionate about advancing scientific knowledge and promoting evidence-based practices in the field of cannabis research. By conducting rigorous studies, I aim to shed light on the intricate relationship between cannabis, marijuana, CBD, and mental health, ultimately benefiting individuals and contributing to the broader scientific community.
